Fuengirola

Fuengirola is situated between Benalmadena and Mijas Costa and is one of the most popular towns on the Costa del Sol. Only 25 km from Málaga airport is easily accessible by car or rail.

It is a town that is steeped in history, dating back to Roman times and there are a number of historical sites and open parks that welcome visitors wishing to indulge themselves in the fascinating history on offer.

In the more recent times, Fuengirola has evolved from a fishing village into a vibrant town that offers something for everyone. It has a cosmopolitan feel about it and the café culture is alive and thriving. There is a wide range of bars, restaurants and take away outlets that will leave you spoilt for choice. It is an exciting, yet comforting place to be and you can be as active or as relaxed as you choose. Many enjoy spending hours watching the world go by in one of the sea front bars, while others chose to take advantage of the abundance of activities on offer. It is also an area that is very flat and therefore easy to walk around.

It is particularly well renowned for its beautiful beaches and the “El Paseo Marítimo Rey de España” which translates into “the King of Spain’s seaside promenade”. This is of course, Spain’s longest seaside walkway at 8kms in length and runs parallel to some of the most stunning beaches that have been awarded the Blue Flag distinction for the outstanding quality of the sand and sea. Naturally, beside such wonderful beaches, there is also a wide range of water sports on offer that suit all ability levels and ages.

Fuengirola is home to the wonderful annual festival in honour of Our Lady the Virgin of El Rosario, the Patron Saint of Fuengirola. This takes place between the 6th and the 10th October every year and is a hugely popular event. The feria includes traditional Spanish dancing, horse and carriage rides, fairground attractions and much more. An event not to be missed!

Fuengirola is a popular choice for Brits, Scandinavians and Spanish, making quality properties highly desirable.

Properties can range from 100.000 € for a 1 bedroom apartment in the city centre up to over a million.
